Rod O'Connor is the head of Client Execution here at Triangulate Knowledge, where he manages client relations as well as develops new business opportunities. With over 20 years of experience working with financial services, Rod brings a wealth of knowledge to the TK team.
Let’s get to know Rod better by asking him 10 quick-fire questions!
Q1. What's something that has inspired you in your career?
My Dad and his work ethic. He started in the mailroom for an oil company in New York while at university, then took an opportunity to move and work in their Philippines and New Zealand businesses and ultimately worked his way up to the top levels of the organisation globally.
Q2. What do you enjoy most about working at TK?
Being part of a growing local organisation where your actions can really make a difference – quite different from some of the massive global organisations with many thousands of employees that I used to work at!
Q3. What’s one trend in the expert network industry that people should be paying attention to but aren’t?
Human interaction in research continues to be paramount, AI is not going to be ready to displace the thoughtfulness of people and their ability to contextualise for a long time (if ever).
Q4. If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
Donald Trump - to reverse decisions that have produced uncertainty in markets and contributed to geopolitical instability.
Q5. What is the best advice another person has given you?
To seize the opportunity to move to Australia from New York many years ago.
Q6. How do you practice a good work-life balance?
Swim squad a couple of mornings a week and a lot of physical activity and sports on the weekends.
Q7. What's one bucket list item you want to complete?
El Camino in Spain.
Q8. What is something that not many people know about you?
I have been to the highest point of 33 US states (out of 36 attempted).

Q10. What is one thing you are most proud of from your work at TK?
Helping the business grow by working with a great team who provide excellent service to our sophisticated client base.
